Chetan Bhagat is an acclaimed Indian author, columnist, screenwriter, and YouTuber, born on April 22, 1974, in New Delhi, India. He grew up in a middle-class Punjabi family, with his father serving in the Indian Army and his mother working as a government employee in the agricultural department.
Chetan attended The Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan before earning a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He later pursued an MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.

After completing his education, Chetan moved to Hong Kong, where he worked as an investment banker at firms such as Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. However, his true passion for writing led him to pen his debut novel, “Five Point Someone,” which achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Since then, Chetan has authored several popular novels, including “2 States: The Story of My Marriage,” “The 3 Mistakes of My Life,” “One Night @ the Call Center,” and “Half Girlfriend,” many of which have been adapted into successful Bollywood films.
In addition to his writing, Chetan is a motivational speaker, TV personality, and columnist. In 2010, he was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Chetan Bhagat is married to Anusha Suryanarayan, and they have two children.
